On September 17, 2019, Kate Hatch and Jody Bauer conducted the second workshop for Entry Year Assistance for new teachers. At this session of training, the group focused on establishing positive relationships with parents. In addition, Kate presented strategies and tactics that can be utilized to ensure successful, nonthreatening parent/teacher conferences. The group also connected with Bobby Truhe from KSB School Law to learn about the legal implications of social media in education. Jody showcased the ESU 11 website along with some devices such as VR headsets and the Microsoft HoloLens that the ESU has available for checkout that will help increase student engagement.
