100 Days of Preschool at Up4Kids

On March 4th Up4Kids Preschool celebrated our 100th Day at School.  All week they did activities centered around the number 100.  The students did 100 exercises.  Some of the exercises were jumping jacks, setups, pushups, leg lifts and windmills.  They stacked 100 cups in a pyramid.  Stacking cups took a lot of patience and persistence.  It also required cooperation. All year long they had been counting bubble gum. Each day they put a piece in our Bubble Gum Jar and on the 100th Day everyone took a piece of gum home.  On Thursday, the students persevered over a 100-piece ocean puzzle.  The preschoolers also wrote a book called “100 Days of School”.  To complete the book they had to answer, “If I had $100 I would buy _________.”  The answers included: cars, dinosaurs, blankets, books, playground, dogs, cats, giraffe, etc.  Another question was “If I could eat 100 of something I would eat_______.”  Answers given:  bacon, ice cream, strawberries, steaks, macaroni, turkey, pizza, etc.

Finally, each student counted 100 items from home and brought for show & tell. The show & tell items included: noodles, beads, cereal, crayons, marshmallows, pennies and q-tips.  The students/parents were very creative.  It was a fun week and the students asked if they could keep counting the days.  So, the bubble gum count will continue until the last day of school.
