On September 29, 2020, ESU 11 hosted a Professional Learning Community meeting for second and third grade teachers. PLCs are an ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively to achieve better results for the students they serve. During the course of the day, teachers had the opportunity to learn best practices in moving forward with interrupted learning from last spring, discuss how to leverage MTSS strategies to identify learning gaps and create reading improvement plans, and explore best practices and resources when needing to engage students in remote learning. Abby Burke, Reading Specialist at the Nebraska Department of Education, along with Kate and Jody, were the facilitators for the day.
