Invention Convention 2022

The 31st Annual Invention Convention hosted by Educational Service Unit #11 of Holdrege was held Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Nebraska Prairie Museum in Holdrege.  140 inventors in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 participated.  Participating schools included: Alma, Axtell, Bertrand, Cambridge, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Holdrege, and Minden. 

This year’s winners of the Harold Warp Memorial Inventor’s Choice Award were Brayden Minnick and Barrett Loberg from Holdrege.  Their invention was the “Light Up Magnetic Chess Board”.  They received a certificate as well as a trophy that will be displayed at their school.  Each inventor at Invention Convention casts one vote for their favorite invention to determine the winner.

Students were first judged in their grade level which was divided into groups called “Inventor’s Circles”.  There were 14 different Inventor’s Circles which each had a 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place winner.  The judges then picked a champion for each Grade Level.
