During the week of June 12th, teachers from the ESU 11 area completed a forty-five hour intensive training with master teacher, Karmen Scharff-Sears. Since there has been a continued increase in the number of students who are struggling with anxiety, and the impact of anxiety is reaching every age group in our classrooms, this class was designed to help educators understand what anxiety is, how to recognize the signs and symptoms, and how teachers can address the needs of students by teaching them strategies that will enable them to cope with anxiety.
