Entry Year teachers met at ESU 11 for the final time today. During the first half of the workshop, Kate presented information on the Nebraska State testing process, and methods to achieve a high level of student engagement in the classroom. Entry-level teachers and mentors also held lengthy small group discussions regarding parent/teacher conferences and classroom management.
During the second half of the day, Technology Curriculum Consultant Jody Bauer shared various iPad apps and Web 2.0 tools that can be used to enhance student engagement, such as Plickers, EdPuzzle and QR Codes. She also provided instruction as to how to access Learn360, a streaming digital delivery service, and BlendSpace, free web tool for teachers to collect resources in one place to form a bundled, interactive lesson for students.
