On February 22, 2022, Staff Development Director, Kate Hatch, organized an art enrichment workshop for area art teachers. This workshop was facilitated by retired Holdrege Public Schools Art Teacher, Mona Petersen. This day was designed for the artist/educator teaching kindergarten through twelfth grade. Mona demonstrated the art of watercolor.
Watercolor is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-based solution. A variety of watercolor techniques including salt, tissue paper, spatter, graded and flat wash, were demonstrated and practiced during the course of the day.
In addition, the art teachers were also able to collaborate and share other ideas that they were able to take back to their individual schools.
