During the week of June 17, 2019, the ESU #11 Staff Development Department provided an intensive training for teachers within the service unit area. This training was designed to provide teachers with methods that can be used in the classroom to prevent and manage peer bullying and cyberbullying. Teachers gained information about the impact of technology on social behaviors as well as ways to respond to bullies effectively. Effective suggestions were also offered for working with parents and controlling bullying to provide a safer, more positive classroom. This course was taught by master teacher Karmen Scharf-Sears from Kearney Public Schools. Teachers from the following districts participated in the class: Southern Valley, Alma, Loomis, Arapahoe, and Kearney.
