On July 30, 2018, Kate Hatch conducted an Introduction to APL workshop. During this training, new teachers received specific information regarding the following strategies that should be used to ensure good classroom management:
· Wait-time
· Wait-time extended
· Temporary exit option
· Interaction sequence
· 10:2 / 5:1
· On the clock management
· Hit run/push pull
· The difference between rules and procedures
· Bell ringers
· Agendas
· Objectives
I most definitely not a new teacher. I was trained in APL back in the 90’s when it first came out. I am a strong believer in the APL strategies and their success in my classroom. I have looked high and low for my detailed information on “hit/run/push/pull” and I can’t find it. I was hoping to share this information with a fellow teacher. Sometimes it’s easier to see it in writing and then show it through example. Could you possibly help me out with this? Thanks in advance.
