On March 1, 2016, Kate Hatch organized an art enrichment workshop for area art teachers. This workshop was facilitated by ESU 11 local art teacher Abby Webb from Axtell and was designed for the artist/educator teaching kindergarten through twelfth grade. This year’s project was texture painting. Texture painting is based on the paint, and its application, or the addition of materials such as ribbon, metal, wood, lace, leather and sand. The texture stimulates two different senses: sight and touch. In addition to learning these art techniques, the art teachers were also able to collaborate and share other ideas that they were able to take back to their individual schools.
Scott Schwarz says
It was a great workshop! Thank you to all of the ESU staff for making it such a pleasant place to visit. Kate and Jody thank you spending the day in the workshop documenting and setting the perfect mood for the creative process. The disco and classic rock was a perfect blend of music!
