On September 3, 2015, Kate Hatch conducted the second workshop for Entry Year Assistance for new teachers. At this session of training, the group focused on classroom management. The class discussed intervention strategies at three levels: minor, moderate, and severe. The class then conversed possible times when each type of intervention could be applied in the classroom. The remainder of the workshop concentrated on how to establish positive relationships with parents. This lead directly into a conversation that focused on preparing for parent teacher conferences, in addition to strategies and tactics that can be utilized to ensure successful, nonthreatening conferences. ESU #11 Technology Curriculum Consultant Jody Bauer also showed a variety of online resources that are available including: the ESU 11 website, Nettrekker, Learn 360, and free online tools to increase student engagement.
