This week the Holdrege Up4Kids Preschool visited the Post Office and mailed a valentine. Post Master, Holly Robinson, gave students a tour of the Post Office. The students got to see where the mail is sorted, where it is loaded onto trucks, and what a mailbox looks like from the other side. When students got to hold a mailbag filled with letters and packages, they said, “That is heavy!” Earlier in the week students made a valentine. They brought the valentine to the Post Office where they got to stamp their own letter and see where the Post Master sorted it. The next day when asked what they remembered about the visit, most said, “They get baby chickens in boxes at the Post Office.” Thank you to the Post Master for taking the time to show us what happens behind the scenes.
