On July 25 and 26, 2011, ESU #11 offered a workshop for beginning SmartBoard users. This workshop was an introduction to the SmartBoard. It showed instructors of all grade levels and content areas the process for how to create and incorporate classroom lessons using the SmartBoard.
During this course participants learned to use the SmartBoard successfully, effectively, and creatively to enhance lessons that increase student interest and participation. Teachers explored the tools available with the SmartBoard, along with Smart Notebook software. Teachers analyzed lessons that other teachers have created and acquired the skills needed to create their own lessons. Participants also learned to search and find lessons already available on-line to utilize in the classroom. Steve Rasmussen, a high school social studies teacher from Franklin Public Schools, was the facilitator for the day.
