The 33rd Annual Invention Convention hosted by Educational Service Unit #11 of Holdrege was held Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Nebraska Prairie Museum in Holdrege. There were 106 inventions submitted from students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Participating schools included: Alma, Arapahoe, Axtell, Cambridge, Eustis-Farnam, Elwood, Holdrege, Legacy Christian, and Minden.
This year’s winner of the Harold Warp Memorial Inventor’s Choice Award was Easton Larson from Axtell. His invention was the “All Seasons 3,000”. He received a certificate as well as a trophy that will be displayed at his school. Each inventor at Invention Convention casts one vote for their favorite invention to determine the winner.
Students were first judged in their grade level which was divided into groups called “Inventor’s Circles”. There were 15 different Inventor’s Circles which each had a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. The judges then picked a champion for each grade level. The results are attached.
