On April 26, 2022 Educational Service Unit #11 sponsored an opportunity for area counselors to participate in a networking process that occurs four times each year. Staff Development Director, Kate Hatch, organized the counselors’ day. During this particular meeting, the group heard from Paulina, a representative from Proteus, a service that helps farmworkers. Paulina talked to the group about ways that their program can provide workers and their families with affordable health care, education assistance, and job training. Jamie Love, ESU 11 Transition Coordinator, also spoke to the group about resources that can be used to help transition students as they begin to consider career options. Resources included The Career Game and ONet, an online job analysis and career exploration tool that has detailed descriptions of the world of work. Jody Bauer, ESU 11 Technology Consultant, shared online safety tip information with the group.
