On September 24, 2020, ESU 11 hosted a Professional Learning Community meeting for 7-12 grade ELA teachers. PLCs are an ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively to achieve better results for the students they serve. During the course of the day, teachers had the opportunity to learn how to address learning loss and interrupted learning, review best practices when providing instruction remotely, both on and offline, view resources to help improve student achievement, and preview and provide input on the most current revision of the new ELA state standards. Dr. Marissa Payzant, English Language Arts Consultant at the Nebraska Department of Education, Dorann Avey, Digital Learning Director at the Nebraska Department, along with Kate and Jody, were the facilitators for the day.
