72 high school students from 7 schools attended a COSI (Center for Science and Industry) video conference presentation titled IN DEPTH: AUTOPSY. Students listened and asked questions of the presenter from the University of Ohio as the pathologists performed a real autopsy. Following the April 23rd joint viewing at ESU #11, teachers returned to their schools with materials to further explore with students the testing for drugs, looking for disease, determination of the type/cause of wounds, and other indicators of the cause of death. While graphic in viewing students were able to see in real time the harvesting of many organs of the body for examination. Students explored the variances in healthy and diseased organs and tissue. Many students and teachers left stating a request to the ESU to repeat this type of activity for their classes.
